The Vanity Princess

Once upon a time
There was a beautiful princess
She was in her prime
Her study was her permanent address.

Once upon a time
There was a Prince
Very ordinary
But he was kind.

Princess was a product of intellect
Prince was a child of the earth

Princess loved to work
Prince was busy humanizing the jerks.

Princess was a beauty
And the Prince was just above what we call ugly.

Princess was aging
The king was worrying
To get her a companion
Of her own selection.

Princess rejected
Everyone shortlisted
She wanted a darling
Similar to her dream Prince Charming

Then came our ordinary Prince
He was different of all
He did not try to convince
For he was confident of impressing the gal

He had nothing but humor
He had no money
To wake the princess from her stupor.
But he could see with Princess his happy future.

Princess disregarded
the Prince like hundreds
The Prince was adamant
And kept on striving

The day had come
When the Princess' shell broke
Shed all her ego
It was under a chestnut oak.

Princess was off age
Suitors had ended their rage
Prince was a golden page
of the new chapter- said a sage.
